Ilvari
The Ilvari we know are exiles -- thrown out of the magical realm of Fae by the High Court for meddling with the forbidden mysteries of Nature. The crossing over from the Demesne of Magic irrevocably changed the Ilvari. Previously immortal and immensely powerful, they now fall under the laws and rules of Elanthia, living a mere 200 years and struggling to master the Magic that used to come as easily to them as breathing.
While initially they sought to return to the eternal land of their birth, over the years certain Ilvari came to accept their new surroundings, and ceased to see themselves as exiles. In an effort to get a better sense of Elanthia, these Ilvari turned to Nature, a previously taboo subject. To this day, many Ilvari disagree on the uses of magic, separating themselves by those who believe in the study of Nature's powers and those who do not.
