Hero's Journey GameMasters are more than just customer service representatives. They have the power to create worlds.

The role of a GameMaster in Hero’s Journey can best be compared to that of a tabletop RPG gamemaster -- someone who builds the environment and sets the stage for the adventures to come. It’s the very same role that GameMasters have filled since Gemstone II debuted on the GEnie network, and very little has changed since those early days.

Working side by side with professional programmers, artists, and game designers, Hero’s Journey GameMasters use powerful development tools to build the graphical world, design and create its quests, and use its powerful scripting language to build or expand the game’s systems.

GameMasters will participate in live events with players, in role-played storylines, special events, and festivals. GameMasters will also perform the all-important customer service function, though not in the traditional sense of the term. Anyone who expects prefabricated answers to trouble tickets or constant referrals up the chain of command will be pleasantly surprised by the Simutronics customer service experience.

While our GameMasters are organized into teams by function -- so that coders work on coding and builders work on building -- they do get exposure to both. So whether a GM's passion is for the technical, the artistic, or a little bit of both, there is a place for him or her. GM's who excel at storytelling find a place on our quest-building team or perhaps on the events team where they can apply their skill to a long- term story event. Other GMs will work on festivals and merchants, or interact with player-run organizations.

With hundreds of GameMasters focused on gameplay, world building, and player interaction, Hero’s Journey will be a dynamic and lively world in which to play!
