   As far classes go, there are nine base professions which a player must combine two to form his main class. This means that there will be seventy-two possible class combinations to chose from, each with its own title. Sticking to the premise of being completely different from the monotony of previously available titles, a character’s class is not limited simply by the class definition. A character that chooses to be a warrior/ranger and decides that he’s bored with that is not necessarily stuck with the choice he made when he first created the character. With the concept of Wyr, (pronounced "We're") opportunities for non-standard growth are unlocked. These Wyr may be obtained via quest, treasure or even unlocked via character play style. With this system, Hero’s Journey aims to remove the confines of class based skills, at least to some degree, by letting the player acquire skills that the Wyr influence that may have nothing to do with either of the original two chosen professions. This broadly diversifies the standard skill tree model to a great extent further making your character more distinct from anyone else’s. In addition to everything already mentioned, the crown jewel of Hero’s Journey will be the new and innovative Wyr system. These are like jeweled charms that run the gamut from common to rare and affect three regions of game play: Aspects, Abilities, and Items. Wyr are socketable (think materia from Final Fantasy VII) and can be combined in various ways rendering a wide variety of pluses and minuses for your character‘s stats, equipment, and even clothing to add to the already unique game environment.. In the end, Simutronics is developing this game so that the player ultimately has the chance to experience true character uniqueness.

   With a slew of at the ready GM’s around the clock, random events and non scripted content will be the order of the day. The choices you make as you interact with the “symbiotic living world systems” within Hero’s Journey will be the factors that lead you through the “Journey System.” Every choice you make in every quest you undergo will determine you character’s destiny. Interactions with NPC’s such as the Shambling Horror known as Theg (part of the still developing Lore that promises to enrich the game mechanics even further) will affect your character more than just changing overall standing with one specific faction. Within the “living world systems,” the days of static NPC’s just standing there waiting for unfulfilling interactions are gone.
